Ear ID wins third place at 2016 HITLAB World Cup

Tata Center postdoc Anshuman Das won third place at the 2016 HITLAB World Cup in New York on November 30th for his Ear ID Smart Imaging project.

According to a PRNewswire press release:

The HITLAB World Cup is an international competition where innovators present original digital health solutions to pressing global healthcare challenges.

‘The HITLAB Innovators Summit does such a great job in bringing together experts from different sectors of healthcare,’ said Das, PhD, technical lead of EarID, a project by MIT’s Tata Center for Technology + Design and MIT Media Lab. ‘I feel honored to be a part of this network. This recognition will go a long way in helping EarID gain visibility in the healthcare community. There is a lot we need to achieve towards improving the quality of primary care and this momentum will propel us in the next steps of our journey.’

74 teams applied for consideration at the 2016 HITLAB World Cup, representing 13 countries: Australia, Cameroon, Chile, India, Jordan, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, and Uruguay.
