Selma Duhović / Postdoctoral Associate of Chemistry

Selma Duhović is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of Chemistry, where she is designing highly porous materials for air conditioners that run on heat and water instead of electricity and ozone-depleting refrigerants.

She received her PhD from UCLA, where she synthesized metal organic frameworks for capture, purification, and storage of gases, and studied electrochemical, spectroscopic, and magnetic behavior of organouranium complexes for activation of heterocyclic nitrogen- and sulfur-based contaminants in crude oil.

Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selma immigrated to Boston with her family in 1996.
