Ratan Tata in conversation at MIT

Philanthropist and giant of Indian industry talks technology, business, and investing in poor communities.

Ratan Tata is a man who needs no introduction to those with even a passing familiarity with India. One of the most prominent businessmen in that country, he spent more than 20 years at the helm of the Tata Group, turning it into a multi-national juggernaut. Now, as chairman of the Tata Trusts, he oversees a number of ambitious philanthropic endeavors, including MIT’s Tata Center for Technology + Design.

Mr. Tata visited MIT and took the time for an in-depth conversation with Tata Fellows, which you can watch it in its entirety above. In a Q&A format, they discussed the panoply of issues that surround creating and implementing solutions to help the poor of India.
